Reportando que:

- Acabamos otro fin de semana de cierre (de viaje) y apertura (estancia).

- Dormí 25 de las 48 hrs del fin de semana.

- Recordé que los viajes constantes afectan mi habilidad para comprar la cantidad exacta de comida necesaria para una semana (1/2 libra de pollo? 3/4 de libra? 1/4 de libra?)

- Sentí una dicha incomparable al comprar los alimentos que me hacen sentir en casa: leche de soya, manzanas, moras.

- Me pasé 3 hrs leyendo/actualizando postales, cartas, ofertas & cuentas pendientes.

- Envié emails a los amigos para hacer el "check-in" correspondiente.

- Programé mi cita para el corte de cabello del verano.

- Mañana, a la rutina del 7o piso :)

tránsito

Es curioso como una vista panorámica de la ciudad desde la flamante oficina del piso 21, aunada a varias semanas fuera de casa, pueden generar una nostalgia terrible por tener un polo a tierra que facilite mirar las cosas en perspectiva.

Lo más curioso es que desde el flamante piso 21, me doy cuenta que la vida en tránsito es lo mejor que se hacer. Y mientras imprimo yet another pase de abordar, me cuesta trabajo imaginarme en un sólo lugar...

Domingo por la manhana, en pijamas, enroscada con mi almohada, ví y repetí (por 12a vez?) los diálogos de casi todos los personajes de la película referida. No hay nada como abrir el ojo enlagañado y salir, gradualmente, de la modorra, feliz.

Sin mucho detalle (que de verdad, no amerita), diré que hoy (re)aprendí a ajustar el juego y las fichas. Uno acá, organizando el cubo Rubik de la vida y resulta que a final de cuentas, esa cara de cuadros azules que (creías) estaba ya lista, se desvanece con ese último movimiento que ajustas (deep sigh). Una mezcla de frustración con una pizca de tristeza (vamos, que a nadie le gusta ser rechazado, no?).

En fin, como dice una colega china de la oficina, "hay más de una forma de pelar un gato" -lo sé, el folklor del dicho es bastante peculiar, pero qué hacer, si así es esto de la multiculturalidad...

Ahora, con mis limones, me toca hacer limonada. Lo bueno es que a mí, la limonada, me queda estupenda.

The Channel Tunnel includes three parallel tunnels, two for rail traffic and a central tunnel for services and security. The often-considered idea of constructing a tunnel under the English Channel was revived in 1986 by the United Kingdom and France and a rail tunnel was chosen over other proposals. Digging began on both sides of the Strait of Dover in 1987–88 and the tunnel officially opened 15 years ago on May 6, 1994. The tunnel runs for 31 miles (50 km) between England and France and is used by freight and passenger trains, which can travel at speeds as high as 100 miles (160 km) per hour. An accident in September 2008 completely shut the tunnel for two days, followed by a partial shutdown for five months for repairs. This partial closure was partly responsible for a considerable loss in revenue, including a drop of 23% in the first quarter of 2009. The tunnels were reopened on February 19, 2009 by the managing company, Eurotunnel.

Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Nagoya, Japan are the world's four best airports, according to the annual Airport Service Quality Survey released by Geneva-based Airports Council International. Those flight hubs impressed the more than 200,000 passengers at 126 airports from around the world who took part in the quarterly airport surveys and rated the passenger experience based on more than 30 service-quality factors, including courtesy, cleanliness, and overall ambience. While Asian airports aren't immune to the economic downturn and the fall in airline traffic that has come with it, governments around the region are intent on maintaining their lead. Big expansion projects are underway, for instance, in Shanghai and Seoul. The top performing airports in other regions were Zurich, Switzerland (Europe), Halifax, Canada (North America), Guayaquil, Ecuador (Latin America & Caribbean), Tel Aviv (Middle East) and George, South Africa (Africa).
